SPECIAL POLICY: SPEC. COVERAGE STALL DIAGNOSIS EXPIRATION

SUBJECT: SPECIAL COVERAGE - STALL DIAGNOSIS EXPIRATION

THIS BULLETIN CANCELS AND REPLACES BULLETIN 87-SM-13 ISSUED 11/90. PLEASE DISCARD BULLETIN 87-SM-13.

The Special Coverage as described in Dealer Bulletin 87-SM-13 on certain 1986-1987 Grand Am and Bonneville models expired on December 31, 1992. This Special Coverage provided three labor operation numbers: T5201, T5257 and T5256. Claims submitted after January 27, 1993 will not be accepted for labor operations T5256 and T5257.

Subsequent customer complaints of intermittent stalling which occur outside the emissions warranty should be evaluated on an individual case by case basis as with any other goodwill request. Please contact your zone representative if you have specific questions.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
