I/P CLUSTER TERMINAL LOCATION SHOP MANUAL REVISION

1986 GRAND AM

Pages 8A-80-4 and 8A-81-4 of the 1986 Grand Am Service Manual are incorrect. The pictures indicate that as seen from the drivers seat, terminals #17 and #18 are located at the top of the connector. This is incorrect. Terminals #1 and #34 are located at the top of the connectors. See Figure I for the indicators cluster and Figure 2 for the gauge cluster. This has been corrected for the 1987 Grand Am Service Manual.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
