DTC B1016 00: Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) Information Not ProgrammedCircuit/System Description
This code indicates that the inflatable restraint sensing and diagnostic module (SDM) has received an invalid vehicle identification number (VIN) from the body control module (BCM).
Conditions for Running the DTC
System voltage is between 9-16 volts.
Conditions for Setting the DTC
| • | The VIN is not programmed in the SDM. |
| • | Communication is lost between the SDM and BCM. |
Action Taken When the DTC Sets
DTC B1016 is a Type B DTC.
Conditions for Clearing the DTC
| • | The VIN number is reprogrammed in the SDM. |
| • | A valid VIN is received from the BCM. |
