Adjustment Procedure

  1. Close the sunroof window panels.

  2. Object Number: 1620823 Size: SH

Important:  Wind/whistle noise, air leaks and possible water leaks on the C3Y panoramic sunroof when closed. The easiest way to identify the location of the air leak is to use a rubber hose against your ear in order to listen for the air leak. Using a rubber hose, 1/2 inch diameter 3 feet long, listen around all the sealing locations while all the door, windows and the sunroof window panels are closed, with the HVAC blower on high. It should be noted that some leakage will be heard at the "T" joints (1) on vehicles without a customer complaint.

  3. One or more window panels may need to be adjusted because of being too far rearward.
  4. • This will lead to one or both of the rear corners touching the small stop, refer to the point located (1) on each front corner of the sunroof window panels.
    • This will cause the sunroof window panel to lift away from the seal, creating a leak at the "T" joint locations.

Important: The sunroof window actuator cover conceals the window actuator screws. Use care when lifting up on the corners of the sunroof window actuator side cover to expose the screws. Use care not to break off the end tabs.

  5. Lift the trim covers corners to expose the attachment screws.
  6. Loosen the four attachment screws (two on each side).
  7. Important:  In most cases it is found that only one sunroof window panel, or one side of one sunroof window panel is out of position. Adjust the other sunroof window panels as necessary to ensure 4 mm gap between them.

  8. Do this from outside of the vehicle, slide the sunroof window panel forward or rearward to achieve 4 mm spacing between the window panels. Refer to Sunroof Window Height and Opening Fit Adjustment .
  9. Important:  It is always desirable to have the front edge lower than the rear edge of the window panel in front of it to create a slight shingle effect.

  10. Use an assistant to push down on the corner of the sunroof window panel using the palm of their hand while tightening the attachment screws, one side at a time.
  11. Inspect the sunroof window panels for proper operation.
