Adjustment Procedure

Important: If the sunroof module needed adjustment and could not be achieved in the front and rear, the module may be misaligned to the roof panel. It will be necessary to loosen all the fasteners except the four leveling retainers in the four corners, this will allow the sunroof module to be aligned to the roof panel.

  1. Partially remove and lower the headliner. Refer to Headlining Trim Panel Replacement .
  2. If adjusting the original module, loosen all fasteners except the four leveling retainers in the four corners.

  3. Object Number: 1575177 Size: SH

Important: Ensure the sunroof module alignments are kept within these specifications to prevent wind and water leaks. Secure the 4 corner fasteners . DO NOT secure the remaining fastener at this time.

  4. If replacing the module, position the sunroof module to the roof opening. Refer to Sunroof Module Assembly Replacement .
  5. Install the TORX bit screws, the four leveling retainers one in each corner, only at this time.
  6. Adjust the 4 corner leveling nuts to the flushness dimensions below.
  7. • Adjust the module so that the front window panel is  (1) 1.0 mm  (0.04 in) below the surface of front edge (1).
    • Adjust the module so that the rear window panel is  (2) 1.0 mm  (0.04 in) below the surface of rear edge (2).

Important: Wind/whistle noise, air leaks and possible water leaks on the C3Y panoramic sunroof when closed. The easiest way to identify the location of the air leak is to use a rubber hose against your ear in order to listen for the air leak. Using a rubber hose, 1/2 inch diameter 3 feet long, listen around all the sunroof window sealing locations while all the door, windows and the sunroof window panels are closed, with the HVAC blower on high. It should be note that some leakage will be heard at the "T"  (1) joints on vehicles without a customer complaint.

  11. Perform the air leak test, as noted above.
  12. Inspect the operation of the sunroof window.
  13. Raise and install the headliner. Refer to Headlining Trim Panel Replacement .
