Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Inlet Hose Replacement LZ4, LZ9

1. Remove the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement for the 3.5L engine or Intake Manifold Cover Replacement for the 3.9L engine.



2. Compress the clamp (1) and disconnect the power steering reservoir inlet pipe from the power steering reservoir.



3. Remove the nut (2) and the power steering hose routing clip (1) from the generator bracket stud.



4. Compress the clamp (1) and disconnect the power steering reservoir inlet pipe (2) from the power steering gear outlet pipe (3).

1. Place the clamp (1) on the power steering gear outlet pipe (3) and install the power steering reservoir inlet pipe (2) to the gear outlet pipe (3).



2. Install the power steering hose routing clip (1) and the nut (2) to the generator bracket stud.

Tighten
Tighten the nut to 5 N·m (45 lb in).




3. Position the clamp (1) onto the power steering reservoir inlet pipe and install it to the power steering reservoir.
4. Install the intake manifold cover. Refer to Intake Manifold Cover Replacement for the 3.5L engine or Intake Manifold Cover Replacement for the 3.9L engine.
5. Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .

Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Inlet Hose Replacement LY7, Power Steering Pump to Reservoir

1. Compress the clamp (1) and disconnect the power steering reservoir inlet hose (2) from the power steering fluid reservoir (3).
2. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
3. Remove the RH front tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.



4. Compress the clamp (1) and disconnect the power steering reservoir inlet hose (2) from the power steering pump (3).
5. Remove the power steering reservoir inlet hose from the vehicle.

1. Position the power steering reservoir inlet hose to the vehicle.



2. Compress the clamp (1) and connect the power steering reservoir inlet pipe (2) to the power steering pump (3).
3. Install the RH front tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation.
4. Lower the vehicle.



5. Compress the clamp (1) and connect the power steering reservoir inlet hose (2) to the power steering fluid reservoir (3).
6. Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .

Power Steering Fluid Reservoir Inlet Hose Replacement LY7

1. Remove as much power steering fluid from the remote power steering fluid reservoir as possible.
2. Place drain pans under the vehicle as needed.



3. Compress the power steering reservoir inlet hose clamp (1) and disconnect the power steering reservoir inlet hose (2) from the remote power steering fluid reservoir (3).
4. Remove the right front tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .



5. Remove the power steering fluid reservoir inlet hose bracket nut.



6. Compress the power steering gear outlet hose clamp (1) and disconnect the power steering gear outlet hose (2) from the power steering reservoir inlet hose (3).
7. Remove the power steering reservoir inlet hose from the vehicle.

1. Position the power steering reservoir inlet hose to the vehicle.



2. Compress the power steering gear outlet hose clamp (1) and connect the power steering gear outlet hose (2) to the power steering reservoir inlet hose (3).

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.




3. Install the power steering fluid reservoir inlet hose bracket nut.

Tighten
Tighten the nut to 8 N·m (71 lb in).

4. Install the right front tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation .



5. Compress the power steering fluid reservoir inlet hose clamp (1) and connect the power steering fluid reservoir inlet hose (2) to the remote power steering fluid reservoir (3).
6. Clean any excess power steering fluid from the vehicle and remove the drain pans.
7. Fill and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .
