DTC B367B 58: Deck Lid Anti-Rotation Latched Sensor Circuit incorrect reaction after event

DTC B367B 59: Deck Lid Anti-Rotation Latched Sensor Circuit circuit/component protection time out

Circuit/System Description

S3 and S4 are part of the Rear Compartment Lid Release switch. The folding top control (FTC) module uses S3 and S4 to determine whether the claws at the rear of the deck lid are latched into the deck lid or unlatched. S3 closes and supplies a 12-volt reference to the signal circuit when the claws are unlatched. S4 closes and supplies a 12-volt reference to the signal circuit when the claws are latched.

Conditions for Running the DTC

The FTC module is operational.

Conditions for Setting the DTC

An open is detected on the signal circuit of S3.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

The top is disabled.

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

The fault is no longer present and the top completes one cycle.

Diagnostic Aids

    • A weak battery may cause DTC B367B 59 to set.
    • A short to B+ may damage S3.

Circuit/System Testing

  1. Disconnect S3.
  2. Ignition ON, probe the 12-volt reference circuit with a test lamp connected to ground. The test lamp should illuminate.
  3. If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the 12-volt reference circuit for a short to ground or open.
    If circuit OK, replace FTC Module.
  4. Probe the signal circuit of S3 with a test lamp connected to B+. The test lamp should illuminate.
  5. If the test lamp does not illuminate, test the signal circuit for an open or high resistance. If circuit tests OK, replace FTC Module.
  6. If circuits test OK, replace S3.

Repair Instructions

Perform the Diagnostic Repair Verification after completing the diagnostic procedure.
