Removal Procedure

Notice: Cap the fittings and plug the holes when servicing the fuel system in order to prevent dirt and other contaminants from entering the open pipes and passages.

Important: Always maintain cleanliness when servicing fuel system components.


    Object Number: 1578465  Size: SH
  1. Drain the fuel tank. Refer to Fuel Tank Draining.
  2. Remove the fuel fill pipe bolt from the fuel fill pocket.
  3. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.

  4. Object Number: 1578469  Size: SH
  5. Remove the fuel fill pipe bolt from the underbody.
  6. Disconnect and reposition the rear stabilizer shaft. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Replacement.

  7. Object Number: 1578466  Size: SH
  8. Loosen the fuel fill pipe hose clamp (1) at the fuel tank.
  9. Disconnect the evaporative emission (EVAP) canister vent solenoid tube quick connect fitting (2). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service.
  10. Disconnect the vapor recirculation line quick connect fitting (3). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service.
  11. Disconnect and remove the fuel fill pipe hose assembly.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 1578466  Size: SH
  1. Install and connect the fuel fill pipe hose assembly.
  2. Tighten the fuel fill pipe hose clamp (1) at the fuel tank.
  3. Tighten
    Tighten the clamp to 4 N·m (35 lb in).

  4. Connect the EVAP canister vent solenoid tube quick connect fitting (2). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service.
  5. Connect the vapor recirculation line quick connect fitting (3). Refer to Plastic Collar Quick Connect Fitting Service.

  6. Object Number: 1578469  Size: SH
  7. Install the fuel fill pipe bolt to the underbody.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  9. Position and connect the rear stabilizer shaft. Refer to Stabilizer Shaft Replacement.

  10. Object Number: 1578465  Size: SH
  11. Lower the vehicle.
  12. Install the fuel fill pipe bolt to the fuel fill pocket.
  13. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 1.5 N·m (13 lb in).
