Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 467429  Size: SH
  1. Remove the engine drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
  2. Use the J 38122-A in order to prevent the crankshaft from rotating while loosening the crankshaft balancer bolt.

  3. Object Number: 1571775  Size: SH
  4. Remove and discard the crankshaft balancer bolt.

  5. Object Number: 412138  Size: SH
  6. Remove the crankshaft balancer.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 412138  Size: SH
  1. Position the crankshaft balancer to the engine.

  2. Object Number: 1571775  Size: SH
  3. Install a NEW crankshaft balancer bolt.

  4. Object Number: 467429  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Use the J 38122-A in order to prevent the crankshaft from rotating while tightening the crankshaft balancer bolt.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 100 N·m (74 lb ft) plus an additional 125 degrees using the J 45059 .

  7. Install the engine drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement .
