Preliminary Procedure

Remove the wheel drive shaft. Refer to Wheel Drive Shaft Replacement .

Intermediate Drive Shaft Mounting Bolt (Qty: 4)

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

Tip
Use care when removing the intermediate drive shaft from the transmission as not to damage the seal.

Tighten
60 N·m (44 lb ft)

Intermediate Drive Shaft

Tip
The J 44394 must be installed into the differential output shaft seal prior to removing and installing the intermediate shaft. Failure to install the J 44394 may cause splines of the intermediate shaft to cut the differential output seal.
