J 37096 Flywheel Holder

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 309963  Size: SH
  1. Remove the automatic transaxle, if equipped. Refer to Transmission Replacement .
  2. Remove the clutch, if equipped with a manual transaxle. Refer to Clutch Pressure and Driven Plate Replacement .
  3. Use the J 37096 to secure the flywheel in order to prevent the crankshaft from rotating.

  4. Object Number: 1526753  Size: SH
  5. Loosen the flywheel bolts.
  6. Remove 5 of the 6 flywheel bolts leaving one bolt at the top of the crankshaft.
  7. Grip the flywheel and remove the remaining bolt. Do not drop the flywheel when removing the final bolt.
  8. Remove the engine flywheel.
  9. Clean the engine flywheel bolt threads and bolt holes.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 1526753  Size: SH
  1. Position the flywheel to the crankshaft.
  2. Install the flywheel bolts finger tight.
  3. Use the J 37096 to secure the flywheel in order to prevent the crankshaft from rotating.
  4. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  5. Tighten the engine flywheel bolts.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 70 N·m (52 lb ft).

  7. Install the clutch, if equipped with a manual transaxle. Refer to Clutch Pressure and Driven Plate Replacement .
  8. Install the automatic transaxle, if equipped. Refer to Transmission Replacement .
