Condenser Tube Replacement LNF

J 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector

Removal Procedure

  1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
  2. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.

  3. Object Number: 872546  Size: SH
  4. Remove the condenser tube bolt and tube from the condenser.
  5. Remove and discard the sealing washers.
  6. Lower the vehicle.
  7. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement.

  8. Object Number: 2044586  Size: SH
  9. Remove the condenser tube from the frame rail bracket (1).

  10. Object Number: 2044574  Size: SH
  11. Remove front condenser tube from rear condenser tube (1).
  12. Remove the condenser tube from the front of dash (2).

  13. Object Number: 872539  Size: SH
  14. Remove the condenser tube and evaporator hose from the thermal expansion valve (TXV).
  15. Remove and discard the seal washer.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 872539  Size: SH
  1. Install new sealing washers on the condenser tube and evaporator hose fittings. Refer to Sealing Washer Replacement.
  2. Install the condenser tube and evaporator hose to the TXV.
  3. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  4. Install the TXV nut and tighten to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).

  5. Object Number: 2044574  Size: SH
  6. Install the front condenser tube to the rear condenser tube (1) and tighten the nut to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).
  7. Install the condenser tube to the front of dash (2) and tighten the nut to 10 N·m (88 lb in).

  8. Object Number: 2044586  Size: SH
  9. Install the condenser tube to the frame rail bracket (1).
  10. Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement.
  11. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.

  12. Object Number: 872546  Size: SH
  13. Install a new seal washer to the condenser tube. Refer to Sealing Washer Replacement.
  14. Install the condenser tube and bolt to the condenser and tighten the bolt to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).
  15. Lower the vehicle.
  16. Evacuate and charge the refrigerant system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging.
  17. Leak test the fittings using the J 39400-A .
