J 41545 Park/Neutral Switch Aligner

Adjustment


    Object Number: 1233683  Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the transaxle range switch electrical connectors from the switch.
  2. Remove the shift control cable from the transaxle range switch lever.

  3. Object Number: 1233687  Size: SH
  4. Remove the transaxle range switch lever and nut

  5. Object Number: 1233691  Size: SH
  6. Make sure the transaxle manual shaft is in the Neutral position.
  7. Loosen, DO NOT REMOVE the transaxle range switch bolts.

  8. Object Number: 893833  Size: SH
  9. Insert the J 41545 as shown and rotate the switch until the tool drops onto position.
  10. Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

  11. Tighten the transaxle range switch bolts.
  12. Tighten
    Tighten the range switch bolts to 20 N·m (15 lb ft).

  13. Remove the alignment tool.

  15. Install the transaxle range switch lever and nut
  16. Tighten
    Tighten the transaxle range switch lever retaining nut to 35 N·m (26 lb ft).

    Important: After adjusting the switch, verify the engine only starts in Park or Neutral. If the engine starts in any other position, adjust the switch.

  17. Connect the transaxle range switch electrical connectors to the switch.
  18. Install the shift control cable to transaxle range switch lever and verify proper operation.
