The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

A condition has been identified where the radio and HVAC systems are inoperative after being replaced or reinstalled into the dash. This condition normally exists after dash repairs were made for other reasons. (Wiring shorts, Rattles, Trim replacement, Radio & HVAC replacement) The radio connector #2 (C2) and the HVAC control head Connector #1 (C1) are the same size and shape connectors. The potential exists to swap these connectors.

To determine the correct connector for each device check the correct wire colors in terminal #1 of each connector:

The Light-Green wire is in the HVAC connector (C1) terminal #1

The Brown-White wire is in the Radio connector (C2) terminal #1

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
