Preliminary Procedures

1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection.
2. Remove the steering column trim covers. Refer to Steering Column Trim Covers Replacement.

Ignition and Start Switch Bolt (Qty: 2)

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.

Procedure

Turn the ignition lock cylinder to the run position before removing the ignition and start switch bolts.

Tighten
2 N·m (18 lb in)

Procedure

1. Disconnect any electrical connectors as needed.
2. If replacing the ignition and start switch, the theft deterrent module must be relearned. Refer to Control Module References.
