Special Tools

    • KM-232 Adapter
    • KM-498-B Oil Pressure Gage

    Note: The engine should be at normal operating temperature

  1. Remove the exhaust manifold heat shield. Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement.

    2. Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution in the Preface section.

  2. Unscrew the closure bolt.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 15 N·m (11 lb ft).

  3. Install KM-498-B gage  (a) and KM-232 adapter  (b) in the hole.
  4. Start the engine.
  5. Check the engine oil pressure.

    6. The engine oil pressure must be at least 130 kPa (18.85 psi) at idle speed and oil temperature must be greater than or equal to 27°C (80°F).
