Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 296183  Size: SH
  1. Remove the plug (5) from the side rail.
  2. Use a 13 mm drill bit in order to drill out the damaged nut (2).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 296183  Size: SH
  1. Place an anti-rotation nut (1) on top of the drilled out nut (2).
  2. Align the front crossmember to the side rail.
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Finger tighten the crossmember bolt (3) and the washer (4).
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the lower crossmember bolt to 125 N·m (92 lb ft).

  6. Install the plug (5) to the side rail.
