Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the front bucket seat, if necessary. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket .

  2. Object Number: 330805  Size: MH
  3. Pull the seat back cover sufficiently forward in order to access the recliner mechanism bolts. Refer to Front Seat Back Cushion Cover and Cushion Pad Replacement .
  4. Remove the recliner mechanism bolts (2,3,4) that attach the recliner to the front seat.
  5. Remove the recliner mechanism (5).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 330805  Size: MH
  1. Install the recliner mechanism (5) to the front seat.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the recliner mechanism bolts (2,3,4) that attach the recliner (5) to the front seat.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 24 N·m (18 lb ft).

  5. Install the seat back cover to the original position. Refer to Front Seat Back Cushion Cover and Cushion Pad Replacement .
  6. Install the front bucket seat, if necessary. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket .

Recliner Control Check

  1. Lift the recliner control handle.
  2. Press the seat back rearward into a fully reclined position, 21 degrees from the intermediate position.
  3. Inspect the ease of the recliner control handle operation and the seat back movement.
  4. Release the recliner control handle. Ensure that the handle returns to its original position and that the seat back remains fully reclined.
  5. Lift the recliner control handle.
  6. Pull the seat back forward to an intermediate reclined position.
  7. Release the recliner control handle.
  8. Press the seat back rearward in order to ensure that the seat back is locked and stays in position.
  9. Lift the recliner control handle and move the seat back to the normal position. Verify the ease of the recliner control handle operation and the seat back return.
  10. Release the recliner control handle.
  11. Press the seat back rearward in order to ensure that the seat back is locked and stays in position.
  12. If the recliner control does not operate correctly, remove and replace the recliner control.
