Front Seat Back Replacement RPO AQ9

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 330708  Size: LH
  1. Remove the front bucket seat from the vehicle. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket .
  2. Remove the bolts from the hinge arm trim cover, and remove the trim cover from the recliner mechanism (2).
  3. Remove the bolts (4,5) attaching the recliner mechanism (2) to the seat cushion (3).
  4. Unsnap the seat back frame (6) from the seat back pivot bushing (7) in order to remove the seat back (1) from the seat cushion (3).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the front seat back pivot bushing (7).
  2. Install the seat back (1) to the seat cushion frame (3). Align the pivot shaft on the seat back frame (6) with the hole in the seat cushion frame (3).
  3. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the bolt (4,5) to the recliner mechanism (2).
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 24 N·m (18 lb ft).

  6. Install the hinge arm trim cover to the recliner mechanism (2), and install the bolts to the trim cover.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 1.7 N·m (15 lb in).

  8. Install the front bucket seat. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket .
