Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the rear seat bottom cushions. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement .
  2. Remove the shoulder restraint guide bolt/screw and restraint if replacing seatback.

  3. Object Number: 407721  Size: SH
  4. Unlatch the seatback latch from the latch striker.
  5. Remove the nuts (1) from the rear seatback cushion studs.
  6. Remove the seat studs from outer pivot supports by lifting upward on outboard side of the cushion (3).
  7. Place protective shield over nearby trim and paint.
  8. Remove the rear seatback cushion from vehicle by removing through the rear liftgate using care not to damage cushion.

  9. Object Number: 729772  Size: SH
  10. Remove the seatback cover (1) from the rear seatback cushion (2) if required.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 729772  Size: SH
  1. Install the seatback cover (1) to the rear seatback cushion  (2) if required.
  2. Install the rear seatback cushion into the vehicle.
  3. Remove protective shield.

  4. Object Number: 407721  Size: SH
  5. Install the seat studs into the outer pivot supports.
  6. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  7. Install the nuts (1) to the rear seat studs loosely.
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts (1) to 24 N·m (18 lb ft).

  9. Install the shoulder restraint guide and screw hand tight.
  10. Install the rear seat bottom cushions into the vehicle. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement .
