Rear Seat Belt Retractor Replacement Coupe

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the cargo area front trim panel. Refer to Cargo Area Front Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.
  2. Remove the rear seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement in Seats.

  3. Object Number: 180047  Size: MH
  4. Remove the nut (1) that attaches the rear seat retractor-side shoulder belt (8) to the inner wheelhouse panel (2).
  5. Remove the bolt (7) that attaches the shoulder belt guide (6) to the rear seat back cushion.
  6. Remove the bolt (4) and the spacer (3) that attaches the shoulder belt (5) to the floor panel.
  7. Remove the rear seat belt retractor (8) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 180047  Size: MH
  1. Install the shoulder belt anchor plate to the floor panel.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the shoulder belt (5) by connecting the bolt (4) and the spacer (3) to the floor panel.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 42 N·m (31 lb ft).

  5. Install the shoulder belt guide (6) to the rear seat back cushion with bolt (7).
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  7. Install the belt retractor (8) to the inner wheelhouse panel (2) with a nut (1).
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 55 N·m (41 lb ft).

  9. Install the rear seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement in Seats.
  10. Install the cargo area front trim panel. Refer to Cargo Area Front Trim Panel Replacement in Interior Trim.

Rear Seat Belt Retractor Replacement Convertible

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the retractor trim cover.
  2. Remove the rear seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement in Seats.

  3. Object Number: 180027  Size: SH
  4. Remove the bolts (1, 2) that secure the side shoulder belt to the rear seat retractor.

  5. Object Number: 180030  Size: SH
  6. Remove the bolt (1) and the spacer (2) that attaches the belt (3) to the floor panel.
  7. Remove the rear seat belt (3).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the rear seat belt anchor plate to the floor panel.

  3. Install the rear seat belt (3) to the floor panel using a bolt (1) and a spacer (2).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 42 N·m (31 lb ft).

  5. Install the side shoulder belt to the retractor using two bolts (1, 2).
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 42 N·m (31 lb ft).

  7. Install the rear seat cushion. Refer to Rear Seat Cushion Replacement in Seats.
  8. Install the retractor trim cover.
