Did you review the system operation and perform the necessary inspections?

  1. Turn the ignition to the RUN position.
  2. Attempt to operate the lock function on both doors.
  3. Attempt to operate the unlock function on both doors.
  4. Verify that the lock function does not operate properly but the unlock function does operate properly.

Does both the lock function and the unlock function work properly on both doors?

  1. Connect a DMM between the body control module (BCM) connector C1 terminal C and ground. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.
  2. While observing the DMM, move either door lock switch to the lock position.

Is there continuity?

Test for and repair a poor connection at the BCM connector C1 terminal C. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and repair a poor connection?

Go to Step 7

Important: Perform the set up procedure for the body control module.

Replace the BCM. Refer to Body Control Module Replacement in Body Control System.

Did you complete the replacement?

Repair the open in circuit 780 between the BCM and S267. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you complete the repair?

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
