  1. Turn the ignition to the RUN position.
  2. Attempt to operate both power windows.

Does the passenger power window operate normally from the right side window switch?

  1. Connect a test lamp between the left side window switch connector terminal B and terminal C. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.
  2. While observing the test lamp and using the left side window switch, press the right window switch up and then press the right window switch down.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Test for and repair a poor connection at the left side window switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and repair a poor connection?

Replace the left side window switch. Refer to Front Side Door Window Switch Replacement .

  1. Connect a test lamp between the right side window switch connector terminal B and terminal E. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.
  2. While observing the test lamp and using the left side window switch, press the right window switch up and then press the right window switch down.

Does the test lamp illuminate in both cases?

Test for and repair an open in circuit 166 between the left side window switch and the right side window switch. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Repair the open in circuit 167 between the left side window switch and the right side window switch. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

  1. Connect a test lamp between the right side window switch connector terminal C and terminal D.
  2. While observing the test lamp, press the right side window switch up and then press the right side window switch down.

Does the test lamp illuminate in both cases?
