Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the front bumper energy absorber. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Energy Absorber Replacement .

  2. Object Number: 296267  Size: SH
  3. Remove the impact bar nuts from the anchor plate studs.
  4. Remove the front bumper impact bar from the vehicle.
  5. Remove the impact bar stud plate retainers from the impact bar, if necessary.
  6. Remove the impact bar stud plate from the impact bar, if necessary.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the impact bar stud plate to the impact bar, if necessary.
  2. Install the impact bar stud plate retainers to the impact bar, if necessary.

  3. Object Number: 296267  Size: SH
  4. Install the front bumper impact bar to the vehicle.
  5. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  6. Install the impact bar nuts to the anchor plate studs.
  7. Tighten
    Tighten the impact bar anchor plate nuts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  8. Install the front bumper energy absorber. Refer to Front Bumper Fascia Energy Absorber Replacement .
