Does the engine crank and the SECURITY indicator illuminate?

  1. Disconnect the starter relay.
  2. Connect a test lamp between the engine wiring harness junction block 2 terminal C6 and battery voltage. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.
  3. While observing the test lamp, turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

  1. Connect a test lamp between the engine wiring harness junction block 2 terminal B4 and ground. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.
  2. Depress the clutch pedal (manual transmission).
  3. Place the vehicle in park (automatic transmission).
  4. While observing the test lamp, turn the ignition switch to the START position.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Connect a test lamp between the engine wiring harness junction block 2 terminal C4 and ground. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

  1. Disconnect circuit 6 (PPL wire) from the starter solenoid.
  2. Connect a 20A fused jumper from circuit 6 (PPL wire) to ground.
  3. Connect a test lamp from the engine wiring harness junction block terminal C4 to terminal B6. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Test for and repair a poor connection in circuit 625 between the body control module (BCM) and the engine wiring harness junction block 2. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.
