  1. Remove the key from the ignition.
  2. Open any door.
  3. Lock the doors using the transmitter.
  4. Close the door.

Does the security LED flash?

  1. Using a DMM set to the diode scale, backprobe the BCM connector C3 terminal C16 with the red test lead.
  2. Backprobe the BCM connector C3 terminal C1 with the black test lead. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Does the security LED illuminate?

Test for and repair a poor connection at the BCM connector C3 terminal C1 and terminal C16. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and repair a poor connection?

Important: Perform the set up procedure for the body control module.

Replace the BCM. Refer to Body Control Module Replacement in Body Control System.

  1. Disconnect the security LED.
  2. Connect a test lamp between battery voltage and terminal A of the security LED harness. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Test for and repair a poor connection in circuit 1376 between the security LED and the BCM. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and repair a poor connection?

  1. Replace the security LED.
  2. Disconnect the vehicle battery.
  3. Reconnect the vehicle battery.

Repair the open in circuit 650 between S217 and the security indicator. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
