Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check?

Start the vehicle.

Does the low engine oil level indicator turn off after the bulb test?

--

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

Check the engine oil level.

Is the engine oil level at the FULL mark on the dipstick?

--

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 4

  1. Fill the engine oil level to the full mark on the dip stick. Refer to Owner Checks and Services .
  2. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.

Does the low oil indicator illuminate for approximately 3 seconds and turn off?

--

System OK

Go to Step 5

Check for powertrain control module (PCM) DTCs.

Are any PCM DTCs set?

--

Go to Powertrain On Board Diagnostic (OBD) System Check (3.8L) or Powertrain On Board Diagnostic (OBD) System Check (5.7L)

Go to Step 6

  1. Connect a scan tool to the vehicle data link connector (DLC).
  2. Enter the instrument cluster WOW mode.
  3. Command the instrument cluster indicators off.

Does the low oil indicator turn off?

Go to Powertrain On Board Diagnostic (OBD) System Check (3.8L) or Powertrain On Board Diagnostic (OBD) System Check (5.7L)

Go to Step 7

Replace the instrument cluster. Refer to Instrument Cluster Replacement .

Did you complete the replacement?

--

Go to Step 8

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.

Did you correct the condition?
