Go to Diagnostic System Check - Lighting Systems

1. Turn the ignition to the RUN position.
2. Depress the brake pedal.

Do all of the stop lamps illuminate?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

Repair a poor connection or an open in the supply voltage circuit of the stop lamp between S243 and C216 terminal P (Pontiac) or S406 (Chevrolet, Japan, Europe, Gulf States). Refer to Wiring Repairs or Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.
