Did you perform the Diagnostic System Check?

  1. Turn the ignition to the RUN position.
  2. Turn the left turn signal on.
  3. Turn the right turn signal on.

Do the turn signal lamps flash?

--

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the RUN position.
  2. Place the turn signal switch in the left turn position.
  3. Connect a test lamp between C216 terminal L and ground. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Does the test lamp flash on and off?

Replace the turn/hazard switch assembly. Refer to Turn Signal and Multifunction Switch Assembly - Disassemble - Off Vehicle and Turn Signal and Multifunction Switch Assembly - Assemble - Off Vehicle in Steering Wheel and Column - Tilt.

Did you complete the replacement?

Connect a test lamp between the signal circuit of the turn signal lamp flasher at the flasher and ground. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Does the test lamp flash off and on?

Repair a poor connection or an open in the signal circuit of the turn signal flasher. Refer to Wiring Repairs or Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you complete the repair?

Connect a test lamp between the battery positive voltage circuit of the turn signal flasher and ground. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Replace the turn signal lamp flasher. Refer to Turn Signal Flasher Replacement .
