Turn the headlamps on.

Does the headlamp leveling switch illuminate?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

1. Turn the headlamps on.
2. Disconnect the headlamp leveling switch connector.
3. Connect a test lamp between the headlamp leveling switch connector terminals 6 and 7. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Did the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 5

Replace the headlamp leveling switch. Refer to Headlamp Leveling Switch Replacement .

Did you complete the replacement?

Go to Step 6

Repair a poor connection or an open in the ground circuit of the headlamp leveling switch. Refer to Wiring Repairs or Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 6

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.
