Replace the inoperative headlamp opening door assembly. Refer to Headlamp Opening Door Replacement .

  1. Turn the ignition to the RUN position.
  2. Turn the headlamps on.

Do the headlamps illuminate?

--

  1. Inspect the inoperative headlamp bulb for a damaged or open filament.
  2. Inspect the inoperative headlamp connector in order to verify that the seal is not missing or damaged.

Are the headlamp bulb and connectors OK?

  1. Disconnect the inoperative headlamp.
  2. Connect a test lamp between the inoperative headlamp connector terminals A and B. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.
  3. Turn the headlamps on.
  4. Turn the headlamp dimmer switch to the low beam position or to the high beam position (depending on which lamp is inoperative).

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Replace the damaged component.

Repair a poor connection or an open in the ground circuit of the inoperative headlamp. Refer to Wiring Repairs or Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.
