  1. Turn the ignition to the RUN position.
  2. Leave the driver's seat belt unbuckled.

Does the fasten safety belt chime sound?

  1. Disconnect the body control module (BCM) connector C2 and connector C3.
  2. Connect a test lamp between the BCM connector C2 terminal B and connector C3 terminal C13. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Test for and repair a poor connection at terminal C13. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and repair a poor connection?

Replace the BCM. Refer to Body Control Module Replacement in Body Control System.

  1. Disconnect the seat belt switch.
  2. Connect a test lamp from the BCM connector C2 terminal B to the seat belt switch connector terminal A. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Repair the open in circuit 238 between the seat belt switch and the BCM. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Connect a test lamp from the BCM connector C2 terminal B to the seat belt switch connector terminal B. Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Repair the open in circuit 650 from the seat belt switch to S217. between the seat belt switch and the BCM. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test for and repair a poor connection at the seat belt switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.
