Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 208554  Size: SH
  1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  2. Disconnect the intake air temperature (IAT) sensor connector at the air intake duct, if equipped with the 3.8 L engine.

  3. Object Number: 208553  Size: SH
  4. Disconnect the intake air temperature (IAT) sensor and mass airflow (MAF) sensor connectors at the air intake duct, if equipped with the 5.7 L engine.

  5. Object Number: 554755  Size: SH
  6. Remove the air intake duct, if equipped with the 3.8 L engine.

  7. Object Number: 208569  Size: SH
  8. Remove the air intake duct, if equipped with the 5.7 L engine.
  9. Remove the radiator support. Refer to Radiator Support Replacement in Engine Cooling.
  10. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.

  11. Object Number: 365450  Size: SH
  12. Remove the air conditioning (A/C) compressor and condenser hose nut at the condenser.
  13. Discard the O-ring.

  14. Object Number: 282946  Size: SH
  15. Remove the A/C evaporator tube bolt at the condenser.
  16. Discard the O-ring .
  17. Remove the radiator air upper baffle from the condenser. Refer to Radiator Air Baffle Assemblies and Deflectors in Engine Cooling.

  18. Object Number: 282959  Size: SH
  19. Remove the condenser from the radiator.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 282959  Size: SH
  1. Install the condenser to the radiator.
  2. Install the radiator air upper baffle to the condenser. Refer to Radiator Air Baffle Assemblies and Deflectors in Engine Cooling.

  3. Object Number: 282946  Size: SH
  4. Install a new O-ring .
  5. Install the A/C evaporator tube bolt at the condenser.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the A/C evaporator tube bolt at the condenser to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).

  7. Install a new O-ring.
  8. Install the A/C compressor and condenser hose nut at the condenser.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the A/C compressor and condenser hose nut at the condenser to 16 N·m (12 lb ft).

  10. Lower the vehicle.
  11. Install the radiator support. Refer to Radiator Support Replacement in Engine Cooling.

  13. Install the air intake duct, if equipped with the 5.7 L engine.

  14. Object Number: 554755  Size: SH
  15. Install the air intake duct, if equipped with the 3.8 L engine.

  16. Object Number: 208553  Size: SH
  17. Connect the intake air temperature (IAT) sensor and mass airflow (MAF) sensor connectors at the air intake duct, if equipped with the 5.7 L engine.

  18. Object Number: 208554  Size: SH
  19. Connect the intake air temperature (IAT) sensor connector at the air intake duct, if equipped with the 3.8 L engine.
  20. Recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  21. Perform a leak test on the A/C system. Refer to Leak Testing .
