Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 43532  Size: SH
  1. Remove the fuel filler cap.
  2. Remove the left rear wheelhouse panel.
  3. Disconnect the fuel fill hose (3) and the vent hose (4) from the fuel tank fill and vent pipe (1).
  4. Remove the fuel fill hose (3) and the vent hose (4) from the fuel tank.
  5. Cap the open ends of the fuel tank.

  7. Disconnect the fuel system ground strap.

  8. Object Number: 71231  Size: SH
  9. Remove the fuel tank fill and vent pipe from the fuel filler pocket.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 71231  Size: SH
  1. Install the fuel tank fill and vent pipe to the fuel filler pocket.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

    Tighten
    Tighten the fuel tank fill and vent pipe bolts to 2.5 N·m (22 lb in).

  3. Connect the fuel fill pipe ground strap.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the fuel fill pipe ground strap bolt to 8 N·m (71 lb in).

  5. Uncap the openings on the fuel tank.
  6. Connect the fuel fill hose (3) and the vent hose to the fuel tank.
  7. Connect the fuel fill hose (3) and the vent hose (4) to the fuel tank fill and vent pipe (1).
  8. Tighten
    Tighten the fuel fill hose clamps and the vent hose clamps to 4 N·m (35 lb in).

  9. Install the left rear wheelhouse panel.
  10. Install the fuel filler cap.
