Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 208464  Size: SH
  1. Remove the air conditioning (A/C) drive belt. Refer to Air Conditioning Compressor Belt Replacement .
  2. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  3. Remove the starter motor. Refer to Starter Motor Replacement in Engine Electrical.
  4. Remove the right closeout cover and bolt.

  5. Object Number: 341084  Size: SH
  6. Unsnap the oil cooler lines from the clip at the generator.

  7. Object Number: 208321  Size: SH
  8. Remove the transmission oil cooler lines from the radiator.
  9. Remove the power steering cooler, if equipped. Refer to Power Steering Cooler Pipe/Hose Replacement in Steering.

  10. Object Number: 64275  Size: SH
  11. Remove the crankshaft balancer. Refer to Crankshaft Balancer Removal .

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 64275  Size: SH
  1. Install the crankshaft balancer. Refer to Crankshaft Balancer Installation .
  2. Install the power steering cooler, if removed. Refer to Power Steering Cooler Pipe/Hose Replacement in Steering.

  3. Object Number: 208321  Size: SH
  4. Install the transmission oil cooler lines to the radiator.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the oil cooler line connections to 27 N·m (20 lb ft).


    Object Number: 341084  Size: SH
  6. Snap the oil cooler lines into the clip at the generator.

  7. Object Number: 208464  Size: SH
  8. Install the right closeout cover and bolt.
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the closeout cover bolt to 12 N·m (106 lb in).

  10. Install the starter motor. Refer to Starter Motor Replacement in Engine Electrical.
  11. Lower the vehicle.
  12. Install the A/C drive belt. Refer to Air Conditioning Compressor Belt Replacement .
  13. Perform the crankshaft postion (CKP) system variation learn procedure. Refer to Crankshaft Position System Variation Learn in Engine Controls - 5.7 L.
