The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom described in the PI.

Frequent use of the rear defroster when used to clear frost, snow, water etc., may cause the circuit breaker and terminals to overheat. Because of this, there is added resistance and the circuit breaker begins to open at times and this will happen more and more frequently. The length of on time gets shorter and shorter.

Replace the circuit breaker and the fuse box terminals from kit part number 22638225. Note: This kit covers multiple years and models so not all the parts in the kit will be used.

Please follow this diagnosis process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed. If these steps do not resolve the condition, please contact GM TAC for further diagnostic assistance.
