    Object Number: 153341  Size: SH
  1. Remove the rear extension housing bolts.
  2. Remove the rear extension.

  3. Object Number: 2234  Size: SH
  4. Remove the rear bearing retainer snap ring from the mainshaft.
  5. Remove the rear retainer housing bolts.
  6. (The rear retainer housing bolts are shouldered.)


    Object Number: 153342  Size: SH
  7. Remove the rear retainer housing from the rear case half.

  8. Object Number: 153345  Size: SH
  9. Remove the snap ring in front of the speedometer tone wheel from the mainshaft.

  10. Object Number: 153347  Size: SH
  11. Remove the speedometer tone wheel from the mainshaft.

  12. Object Number: 153351  Size: SH
  13. Remove the snap ring behind the speedometer tone wheel from the mainshaft.

  14. Object Number: 2260  Size: SH
  15. Remove the case bolts from the case halves.
  16. Make a note that the two longer case bolts and the washers go into the doweled case holes.

    Important: Do not attempt to wedge the case halves apart at any point on the mating surfaces. Damage to the case may result.

  17. Insert two screwdrivers into the slots cast into the case ends.
  18. Pry the case halves apart.

  19. Remove the 2 dowels.

  20. Object Number: 2261  Size: SH

    Important: Do not damage the oil pump (located in the rear case half) while removing the rear case half.

  21. Remove the rear case half and the oil pump as an assembly from the front case.
