Makes 🢒 Pontiac 🢒 1998 🢒 Firebird 🢒 Engine 🢒 Engine Controls - 3.8L 🢒 Ignition Coil Replacement

Removal Procedure
  1. Disconnect the 14-way connector from the ignition control module.
  2. Disconnect the spark plug wires from the coil assemblies.

    3. Object Number: 12299 Size: SH
  3. Remove 6 screws (1) securing the coil assemblies to the ignition control module.
  4. Remove the coils (2) from the ignition control module (3).
  5. Remove the ignition control module.

Installation Procedure
  1. Attach the coils to the ignition control module. Refer to Ignition Control Module Replacement Ignition Coil(s).

    2. Object Number: 187266 Size: SH
  2. Install 6 ignition coil attaching screws

    3. Tighten:
    Tighten the screws to 4-5 N·m (40 lb. in.).

  3. Install the nuts and washers securing the ignition control module assembly to the mounting bracket.

    4. Tighten:
    Tighten the nuts to 8 N·m (70 lb. in.).

  4. Connect the spark plug wires.
  5. Connect the 14-way connector to module.
