PROCEDURE: REPLACEMENT WIRING HARNESS CONNECTORS

VEHICLES AFFECTED: All Years - All Models

In the event it becomes necessary to replace a connector in a wiring harness, the following procedure should be followed.

1. If the connector has a part number, the part should be ordered in the normal manner through the local GM Parts Distribution Centre (PDC).

2. If the Connector has no part numb er, place a 'No Part Number' (NPN) order with the Parts Distribution Centre.

3. The Parts Distribution Centre will then locate the connector and ship it to the Dealer.

If a particular connector is not readily available through GM PARTS, the order will be routed through Packard Electric. Packard maintains no inventories of replacement connectors, but will provide them on request whenever possible.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
