Removal Procedure

  1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle .

  2. Object Number: 588753  Size: SH
  3. Remove the bolts (1, 3) securing the front transaxle brace (2) to the transaxle and right cylinder head.
  4. Remove the electrical connector at the vehicle speed sensor.

  5. Object Number: 11835  Size: SH
  6. Remove the retaining bolt (131) and the sensor (130). Twisting the sensor while pulling outward will aid in removal.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  1. Install the vehicle speed sensor (130) and the retaining bolt (131). Install a new O-ring seal on sensor if necessary.
  2. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  3. Install the electrical connector at the sensor.

  4. Object Number: 588753  Size: SH
  5. Install the bolts (1, 3) securing the front transaxle brace (2) to the transaxle and right cylinder head.
  6. Lower the vehicle.
