Headlining Trim Panel Replacement With Sunroof

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 662297  Size: SH
  1. Remove the passenger front bucket seat. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket in Seats.
  2. Pull the door opening moldings down in order to clear the headliner.
  3. Remove the windshield pillar trim. Refer to Windshield Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement .
  4. Remove the center pillar trim. Refer to Center Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement .
  5. Remove the rear quarter upper trim panel. Refer to Quarter Upper Trim Panel Replacement .
  6. Remove the sunshades. Refer to Sunshade Replacement .
  7. Remove the overhead console. Refer to Roof Console Replacement .
  8. Disconnect the rearview mirror electrical connectors.
  9. Remove the front assist handles. Refer to Assist Handle Replacement .
  10. Remove the rear assist handles. Refer to Assist Handle and Rear Coat Hook Replacement .

  12. Disconnect the headliner wiring harness connector.

  13. Object Number: 288098  Size: SH
  14. Pull the headliner down in order to release the headliner from the roof panel. Work from the corners.
  15. Notice: Use care when removing and installing the headliner. If reusing the headliner lay the headliner down flat on a clean surface. Excessive bending will damage the headliner.

  16. Remove the headliner through the right rear passenger door opening.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 288098  Size: SH
  1. Load the headliner into the vehicle through the front passenger door opening.
  2. Locate the pad to the substrate.

  3. Object Number: 107684  Size: SH
  4. Connect the headliner wiring harness connector.

  5. Object Number: 107683  Size: SH
  6. Route and secure the wiring harness in the wiring harness retainers.
  7. With a helper, raise the headliner into position.
  8. Locate and align headliner to the driver side inner sunshade attachment and push with rocking motion to secure.
  9. Locate the passenger side rear assist handle attachment point and secure.
  10. Locate the passenger sunshade attachment point and secure.
  11. Install the rear assist handles. Refer to Assist Handle and Rear Coat Hook Replacement .
  12. Install the front assist handles. Refer to Assist Handle Replacement .
  13. Connect the rear view mirror electrical connectors.
  14. Install the overhead console. Refer to Roof Console Replacement .
  15. Install the sunshades. Refer to Sunshade Replacement .
  16. Install the rear quarter upper trim panel. Refer to Quarter Upper Trim Panel Replacement .
  17. Install the center pillar garnish molding. Refer to Center Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement .
  18. Install the windshield pillar garnish molding. Refer to Windshield Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement .
  19. Install the door opening weatherstrips. Refer to Front Door Opening Weatherstrip Replacement and Rear Door Opening Weatherstrip Replacement in Doors.

Headlining Trim Panel Replacement Without Sunroof

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 662297  Size: SH
  1. Remove the passenger front bucket seat. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket in Seats.
  2. Pull the door opening moldings down in order to clear headliner.
  3. Remove the windshield pillar trim. Refer to Windshield Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement .
  4. Remove the center pillar trim. Refer to Center Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement .
  5. Remove the rear quarter upper trim panel. Refer to Quarter Upper Trim Panel Replacement .
  6. Remove the sunshades. Refer to Sunshade Replacement .
  7. Remove the overhead console. Refer to Roof Console Replacement .
  8. Disconnect the rearview mirror electrical connectors.
  9. Remove the front assist handles. Refer to Assist Handle Replacement .
  10. Remove the rear assist handles. Refer to Assist Handle and Rear Coat Hook Replacement .

  12. Disconnect the headliner wiring harness connector.

  13. Object Number: 288098  Size: SH

    Notice: Use care when removing and installing the headliner. If reusing the headliner lay the headliner down flat on a clean surface. Excessive bending will damage the headliner.

  14. Pull the headliner down in order to release the headliner from the cardboard roof insulator.
  15. Use a putty knife, or equivalent, to release the four corners of the cardboard roof insulator from the headliner.
  16. Remove the pad between the headliner and the cardboard roof insulator.
  17. Remove the headliner through the front passenger door opening.

  19. The headliner (2) will be reattached to the cardboard roof insulator during installation.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the pad to the headliner.

  2. Object Number: 288098  Size: SH
  3. Load the headliner into the vehicle through the front passenger door opening.

  4. Object Number: 107684  Size: SH
  5. Connect the headliner wiring harness connector.
  6. With a helper, raise the headliner into position.
  7. Locate and align headliner to sunshade inner supports.
  8. Secure the driver's sunshade inner support on the headliner to the windshield header.
  9. Push with a rocking motion to engage the headliner.
  10. Secure the passenger side rear assist handle on the headliner to the roof rail. Refer to Assist Handle and Rear Coat Hook Replacement .
  11. Install the front assist handles. Refer to Assist Handle Replacement .
  12. Install the driver side rear assist handle. Refer to Assist Handle and Rear Coat Hook Replacement .
  13. Connect the rear view mirror electrical connectors.
  14. Install the overhead console. Refer to Roof Console Replacement .
  15. Install the sunshades. Refer to Sunshade Replacement .
  16. Install the rear quarter upper trim panel. Refer to Quarter Upper Trim Panel Replacement .
  17. Install the center pillar garnish molding. Refer to Center Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement .
  18. Install the windshield pillar garnish molding. Refer to Windshield Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement .
  19. Install the door opening weatherstrips. Refer to Front Door Opening Weatherstrip Replacement and Rear Door Opening Weatherstrip Replacement in Doors.
