Removal Procedure

  1. If applicable remove the secondary air injection (AIR) pump outlet pipe. Refer to Secondary Air Injection Pump Outlet Pipe/Hose Replacement .

  2. Object Number: 703592  Size: SH
  3. Remove the bolt (3) that attaches the EGR outlet pipe flange to the intake manifold.
  4. Remove the nut (2) that attaches the EGR outlet pipe to the EGR valve inlet pipe assembly.
  5. Remove the EGR valve outlet pipe (1).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the EGR valve outlet pipe (1).
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the bolt (3) to the intake manifold.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 29 N·m (21 lb ft).

  5. Install the nut (2) to the EGR valve inlet pipe assembly.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 29 N·m (21 lb ft).

  7. If applicable install the secondary air injection (AIR) pump outlet pipe. Refer to Secondary Air Injection Pump Outlet Pipe/Hose Replacement .
