The inside air temperature sensor is a temperature sensitive resistor. As the air temperature increases, resistance decreases. As the air temperature decreases, resistance increases.

A hose is connected to a housing around the inside air temperature sensor. This hose is connected to an aspirator that continually draws passenger compartment air over the sensor, increasing the accuracy of the temperature reading.

The instrument panel module (IPM) monitors the inside air temperature signal. The IPM uses this information in order to determine command signals.
