Removal Procedure

    Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

  2. Object Number: 153237  Size: SH
  3. Relieve the fuel system fuel pressure. Refer to the Fuel Pressure Relief .
  4. Remove the trunk liner (1). Refer to Rear Compartment Trim Panel Replacement in Body Rear End.
  5. Remove the bolts from the access panel (2) for the fuel sender .

  7. Disconnect the electrical connector from the fuel tank pressure sensor.

  8. Object Number: 18839  Size: SH
  9. Remove the fuel tank pressure sensor from the sender.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the new fuel tank pressure sensor into the fuel sender.

  2. Object Number: 191824  Size: SH
  3. Connect the electrical connector to the fuel tank pressure sensor .

  4. Object Number: 153237  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the fuel sender access panel (2).
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 2 N·m (18 lb in).

  7. Install the trunk liner (1). Refer to Rear Compartment Trim Panel Replacement in Body Rear End.
  8. Install the fuel filler cap.
  9. Connect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection in Engine Electrical.
