Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 1236459  Size: SH
  1. Remove the console trim plate. Refer to Front Floor Console Trim Plate Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
  2. Use a flat-bladed tool in order to remove the shift cable end from the shift control lever.
  3. Remove the shift control cable from the shift control.
  4. Remove the shift control wire harness from the shift control.

  6. Remove the shift control fasteners.
  7. Remove the shift control.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 828251  Size: SH
  1. Install the shift control.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the shift control nuts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the nuts to 10 N·m (89 lb in).

  5. Install the shift cable to the shift control.
  6. Install the shift control wire harness to the shift control.
  7. Adjust the shift control cable as necessary. Refer to Range Selector Lever Cable Adjustment .
  8. Install the console trim plate. Refer to Front Floor Console Trim Plate Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gages and Console.
