Important: It may be necessary to compare the results of the road test to a like vehicle that is operating properly.

Road test the vehicle in order to verify the customer complaint.

Does the vehicle ride too soft?

Go to Step 2

System OK

Inspect the tires for the proper inflation pressure. Refer to Tire Inflation Pressure Specifications in Maintenance and Lubrication.

Is the tire inflation pressure correct?

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 3

Inflate the tires to the correct pressure.

Has the repair been performed?

Go to Step 4

1. Inspect the vehicle trim height. Refer to Trim Height Inspection .
2. Repair as necessary.

Has the inspection/repair been performed?

Go to Step 5

Inspect the following suspension components for wear or damage.

Refer to Suspension Strut and Shock Absorber Testing - On Vehicle .

Are any of the components the worn or damaged?

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 7

Replace all of the worn or damaged components.

Has the repair been performed?

Go to Step 7

1. Inspect the automatic level control system, if equipped. Refer to Diagnostic Starting Point - Suspension General Diagnosis in Automatic Level Control.
2. Repair as necessary.
