The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.
Condition/Concern:
Rear tailgate will not unlock from switches or RKE.
Recommendation/Instructions:
If a condition occurs where the rear tail gate will not unlock but rear glass releases, inspect rear lift glass ajar switches in Tech 2 BCM data. Make sure a state of change is seen from both glass ajar switches. If the rear glass is released and glass ajar switch shows closed or inactive, the BCM will not unlock the tail gate actuator. The ajar switch is part of the lock/unlock actuator for tailgate.
Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.
