Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 190506  Size: SH
  1. Remove the oil level indicator.
  2. Remove the oil level indicator tube bolt and tube.
  3. If you are unable to remove the oil level indicator tube, perform the following steps:

    2.1. Apply penetrating oil to the bottom of the oil level indicator tube.
    2.2. Move the oil level indicator tube back and forth in order to loosen the oil level indicator tube.

Installation Procedure

  1. Clean the oil level indicator tube.
  2. Apply GM sealant P/N 12345739 or equivalent around the oil level indicator tube 12.7 mm (0.50 in) below the bead.

  3. Object Number: 190506  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  4. Install the oil level indicator tube and bolt.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten bolt to 25 N·m (18 lb ft.)

  6. Install the oil level indicator.
