DRIVE AXLE BOOT PROTECTORS DAMAGE INFORMATION

TO PREVENT ACCIDENTAL DAMAGE TO THE DRIVE AXLE BOOTS WHEN DOING SERVICE WORK ON A VEHICLE IN THE AREA OF THE DRIVE AXLE, IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT PROTECTORS J-28712 BE INSTALLED IN THE BOOTS. REFER TO ILLUSTRATION. IT IS ALSO IMPORTANT THAT THESE BOOT PROTECTORS BE USED WHEN DRIVE AXLE ASSEMBLY IS REMOVED FROM A VEHICLE (TRANSMISSION REMOVAL, ETC.) BESIDE PROTECTING THE BOOT, THE PROTECTORS AID IN PREVENTING OVER- EXTENSION WHEN REMOVING A DRIVE AXLE. IF A DRIVE AXLE JOINT IS OVER- EXTENDED, INTERNAL PARTS MAY FALL OUT AND THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR DIRT ENTERING JOINT WHICH WILL RESULT IN FAILURE OF THE AXLE. ALWAYS REMEMBER TO REMOVE THE PROTECTORS AFTER THE SERVICE WORK IS COMPLETED.
