EN 48974 EGR Cooler Pressure Tester Adapter Set

Cause	Correction
Faulty cylinder head gasket and/or cracking, or other damage to the cylinder head and engine block cooling system passages. Coolant consumption may or may not cause the engine to overheat	Perform a cylinder leak down test. Refer to Cylinder Leakage Test. Inspect the cylinder head and engine block for damage to the coolant passages and/or a faulty head gasket. Repair or replace as required.
Faulty EGR System	Inspect EGR cooler using EN 48974 tester 1 and replace the EGR cooler if any problem is found.

Faulty cylinder head gasket and/or cracking, or other damage to the cylinder head and engine block cooling system passages.

Coolant consumption may or may not cause the engine to overheat

Perform a cylinder leak down test. Refer to Cylinder Leakage Test.
Inspect the cylinder head and engine block for damage to the coolant passages and/or a faulty head gasket.
Repair or replace as required.

Faulty EGR System

Inspect EGR cooler using EN 48974 tester 1 and replace the EGR cooler if any problem is found.
